HISTORY OF MARKEY AND ASSOCIATES

Markey and Associates was established by Thomas E. Markey in 1976. Our first office was located at 1327 Huntington Drive in South Pasadena. In 1978 Tom purchased and restored the distinctive brick building at 636 Mission Street, a registered historical landmark. In 2007, we moved to a unique brick building at 1545 Columbia Street, which is now our office.

Tom, the founder of Markey and Associates, has resided in South Pasadena since 1956. Over the last 35 years he has been very active in the community serving on the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, South Pasadena Cultural Heritage Commission, Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses and many other projects involving preservation of South Pasadena’s historic landmarks. Tom Markey still actively consults for the company.

In 2010 Sarah Halpin, an associate of Markey and Associates since 2004, acquired Markey and Associates and is now the principle and broker of the company. Following in her mentor’s footsteps she has been a member of the Tournament of Roses since 2004. She also is an active volunteer at Saint Andrew’s Parish in Pasadena and teaches ballet at Pasadena Dance Theatre.

Our staff of mature and professional associates is involved in the community and reflects the company’s concern to provide the finest real estate service possible. We serve South Pasadena, Pasadena, San Marino, Altadena, Alhambra and adjacent communities.

We are proud of the integrity of the MARKEY AND ASSOCIATES name. The reputation we have earned is a source of great satisfaction to us. We trust it will encourage you to consider our professional services when in need of them. Our pleasure will be to serve you as we have others, and to add you to our list of friends.

Our motto is SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY.
